If you received your controller after July 1st, 2020 it will look like this - it has rubber plugs (glued in place) covering the holes where the old on/off switch, and charge port used to be because we used the same plastic for the handle with a couple of modifications to accommodate the new electronics. This allowed us to cut two months off the wait time for the redesigned controller and begin shipping again after 2 months (instead of 4 months) of waiting for the new circuit card.
We knew that our decision to stop production on the old controllers would mean months of NOT being able to deliver our product, but we just couldn’t deliver less than the best to you and your pets.
The prettier version is still in the future - but we're able to ship working units to our customers who've waited months for their SwiftPaws. When we have a choice between pretty and quality, we're going to go with quality every single time.
We are still a very new start-up company and we are constantly making improvements. We listen to what our early customers were saying and were able deliver some of the features in this redesign.
One huge leap forward is that the new controller will NOT need to be charged. It comes with a standard A123 battery that can be purchased anywhere batteries are sold. They look like short double A batteries. This image shows only a sampling of the brands, and even variations within the brand. You should not have a problem finding the battery when it comes time to change it. You can select your favorite brand (not all brands are shown here).
