Hi Furiend,
I’m Meghan, Founder and CEO of SwiftPaws, and I want to take a moment to share an update with you.
👉 Moving forward, batteries will no longer be included in our Home Original and Home Plus kits.
This is a big change, and that’s why I wanted to walk you through exactly what led to this decision, what it means for you, and how we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way.
🎥 I recorded a video where I talk about the decision in more detail. 👉
Why This Change?
At SwiftPaws, we’ve always been proud to manufacture as much of our product as possible right here in the USA — from our custom circuit boards to our packaging. When we appeared on Shark Tank, Lori Greiner gave us her Golden Ticket because she believed in what we were doing. And Kevin O’Leary (Mr. Wonderful himself) stepped back, knowing we wouldn’t want to move our manufacturing overseas, and he was right!
But while we continue to manufacture and assemble here, certain accessories, like lithium-ion batteries, are a component that simply can’t be sourced domestically. Even U.S. battery brands import the cells from overseas to assemble into battery packs in the US.
This creates a disproportionate cost burden for small brands like us — and batteries were already a costly part of the kit. In order to avoid raising our prices, we’ve decided to remove the battery from our Home Original and Plus Kits and instead, offer a more flexible approach for our customers.
Here’s what this means for future kit purchases:.
✅ We’re removing the battery from our Home Original and Plus Kits.
✅ We’re keeping the price of our kits the same.
✅ We’ll still provide the charger, LiPo safety bag, and everything else you need.
✅ We’ll give you clear recommendations for purchasing compatible batteries on your own.
✅ We’ll continue offering batteries as an optional add-on accessory on our website.
✅ You’ll be able to choose the best battery for your needs, whether you want one with longer run times or a smaller, more budget-friendly option.
✅ Many of you are already sourcing your own batteries, and often, you’re paying less than we do for the same (or even better) performance.
This isn’t the only cost pressure we’re facing, but by making this change now, we can avoid widespread price increases and continue offering a high-quality, American-made product that we believe in.
Thank you so much for your continued support of SwiftPaws. Your trust means the world to us. If you have any questions, concerns, or tips to share with fellow SwiftPaws users, please don’t hesitate to reach out at support@swiftpaws.com. Your voice is so important in helping guide what we do.
