Using the HotRC Battery charger

The HotRC charger has a display window that shows the present charge of the battery when it is plugged in. Use the charger away from flammables and monitor it while in use.

  • Plug the charger in first to make sure it is getting power. The readout will show 000 (it may take a few moments to display)
  • Then connect the battery - the display will show the battery's current voltage
  • Charge to the maximum capacity of your battery (the capacity does decline over time)
  • Remove the battery from the charger once it's fully charged
  • The last stage of the charging process balances the voltage between the internal cells in the battery pack

NOTE: the charger will get very hot during a certain point in the charging cycle, this is normal. What is not normal is if the charger is too hot to hold, or if the case is warped. In either case, unplug the charger and do not use it. It should be replaced.
