The actual set up is really simple - the videos provide the finer details because getting the course size and line tension just right takes a little trial and error.
The kit contains the main device and three field pulleys. The main device plugs into a regular wall outlet to power the system.
- Download the Free SwiftPaws App - you can install the app on any number of phones, but only have ONE app can be open at a time or it will not work properly. Be sure to completely close all SwiftPaws apps on all other phones by swiping up
- Keep the phone/app within 10 feet of the drive to maintain connection.
- You can use one, two, or all three field pulleys in your course.
- The maximum course size is a total of 100 feet - but your actual maximum depends on multiple factors - so I suggest starting with a course around 80 feet. You can adjust up or down buy cutting the line or tying more line onto the existing line. There is no limit to how many knots you can have in the line - so if the dog bites through the line - you can just tie it back together 👍
- Stake the drive and pulleys into place and thread the line by placing the line around the back side of the pulley wheel.
- Connect the power adapter to the short "pigtail" section of cable attached to your Chase device -the quick disconnect connectors are meant to protect the power port on the device from damage so always make sure to use the two sections.
- When you plug the drive in the blue light on the bottom will flash once per second. When the drive pairs with the app the light will flash once every 3 seconds
- If the drive is plugged in but sitting idle - it will go into sleep mode. To "wake it up" - press and hold the pairing button on the Chase device until the light comes on and begins to blink Chase paring button on device
- To operate the drive - it needs to be plugged in and paired with the app (blue light blinking ever 3 seconds) - Using the app - touch and hold the pawprint and keeping your finger touching the screen the entire time, move your finger up or down and the line will move one way or the other. When you lift your finger the motion will stop.
