SwiftPaws kits ship with three (3) field pulleys and one main drive - each acting as a "corner" of your course. Additional pulleys are sold in sets of two (2) on our website SwiftPaws.com
You may set up any configuration that fits your space.
Adding additional pulleys can increase the complexity of the course but will not increase the size of the course your particular SwiftPaws system is designed to support (Chase up to 100' - Home original up to 350' & Home Plus up to 750') Note: These maximums assume a straight out-and-back course using the main drive and one pulley. Additional pulleys add complexity and drag to the course which will require a reduction in the course size to compensate for this, but other factors come into to play as well, so your actual maximum course size will vary, and if you make changes to your course; the type of lure; terrain, etc.
The main drive device (the motorized pulley) is shown as a target in the diagrams below. The other circles represent field pulleys. Generally, your course will consist of the main drive unit and three field pulleys set up in a square or rectangle. Depending on the space you have to set up in.
Pro Tip: Placing two field pulleys rather close to the main drive unit - one on either side - as illustrated here:
is ideal for maximum line contact with the drive pulley which allows for greater control over the movement of the lure while maintaining the very light tension for optimal performance.
Example of a course set up using this configuration appears below:
